As President of the Union of Bakers Valery Cheshinsky points out, when addressing the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Aleksey Gordeyev, the baking industry is facing a difficult pricing situation. Various factors affect the price increase of the main food product.
According to the conclusions of the union, from November 2017 to October 2018, the price policy for bread in retail chains became higher only by 3%, and the salaries of bakery employees increased by 5%. “To solve this problem, says Czech, we must expect direct government intervention.” 
Also, the president of the union claims that raw materials, energy tariffs, delivery, sugar and other baking additives are not cheaper, and enterprises and bakeries operate in conditions of low profits and profitability. According to him, it is unacceptable that manufacturers of "essential products" were in such a situation.
In response to the request, the chairman of the AKORT presidium, Sergei Belyakov, said that retailers are reviewing the grounds for lowering prices and maintaining them in stability. But by the same token, the chairman emphasizes that retail chains are oriented towards the purchasing power of citizens and should themselves be interested in making products profitable and suitable for the buyer.
