Variety with numerous advantages - Stroevsky

Stroyevsky - a bright and beautiful variety of apples, which has a great taste and high yields.

Due to its numerous advantages, it is quite common in our country. In this article you will find all the information you need about Stroevsky apples.

Description and photo later in the article.

What kind is it?

Stroyevsky apples traditionally classified as winter

Fruits of this variety usually ripen quite late - in end of September.

Winter grades also include Nastya, Nymph, Kandil Orlovsky, Molodezhny and Moscow Late.

Usually they are not ready for consumption right away - in order for apples to achieve optimal taste, they need to lie down for about a month after harvest.

Subject to the correct temperature and other conditions Stroyevsky apples may well be preserved until until the end of February and the beginning of March.

To do this, they need to be placed in a cool place. with low humidity.

It is best to keep Stroevsky apples in a closed container. They are also distinguished by high rates of frost resistance. The trees of this variety perfectly tolerate the most severe cold.

According to the observations of the researchers, they quite calmly react to lowering the temperature to -40 degrees.

Apple trees of the Orlovskoye Polesye, Flashlight, Altai Ruddy and pears Svarog and Severyanka also demonstrate excellent winter hardiness.

Pollination

Like most other species, Stroyevskoye is one of the most self-fruitful apples.

Trees of this breed do not tend to self-pollination and are pollinated, for the most part, at the expense of neighboring apple trees.

The best pollinators are Kandil Orlovsky, Veteran. The Memory of the Warrior, Imrus and some others also fulfill this role quite well.

To achieve maximum yields, it is necessary to correctly calculate the planting site and their number.

Experts recommend planting on each separate part of the garden one main variety (and the rest in other parts of the garden).

Moreover, for each of them it is best to plant not one, but at least two pollinators.

This is necessary because some of the types of apple trees have the so-called periodic fruiting and ripen not every year.

Description Stroevsky variety

Stroevsky apple trees have a distinctive, easily recognizable appearance. Trees average in height, with a fairly rapid growth.

The crown of such apple trees is thick, in the shape of a wide pyramid. The bark is smooth, light gray. In the period of flowering apple trees are very beautiful.

They are completely covered with large pale pink flowers that emit a sweetish scent. Very beautiful and ripe apples.

Medium in size (usually not more than 150 g), these fruits delight the eye with their appearance: golden yellow background with bright red stripes that cover almost the entire surface of the apple.

Often there are so many stripes that they merge together, forming a uniform crimson blush. The flesh of apples is white, coarse-grained, rather dense.

The taste Stroyevsky apples very juicy, with a pleasant sweet-sour taste (in which more sweets than acids).

These apples are good fresh.

Considering their tendency to long storage, in the harvest year you can stock up on them for many months ahead and enjoy the bright view and wonderful taste of Stroevsky apples throughout the autumn and winter.

The following varieties also demonstrate good keeping quality: Bryansky, Bolotovsky, Snowdrop, Present Grafsky and Welsey.

They are also often used in all sorts of homemade blanks - for making compotes, juices, mashed potatoes. Especially beautiful and tasty of these apples is jam - with a fragrant aroma and sweet-sour taste.

Breeding history

The variety was bred thanks to the scientists of the All-Russian Research Institute for Breeding Fruit Crops.

His invention dates back to the early 1980s.

For several years, experimental studies have been conducted.

The first fruiting of apple trees was recorded in 1991.

In 1995, he was ranked among the elite due to its high quality fruit.

A whole team of experienced plant breeders worked on breeding Stroyevsky: E.N. Sedov, Z.M.Serova, E.A. Dolmatov, V.V.Zhdanov.

Getting such a unique variety with high winter hardiness and excellent immune indicators - their merit.

The All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Breeding Fruit Crops is the country's largest research center, where active research and development of new types of cultivated plants is conducted.

This is the oldest horticultural educational institution in Russia, whose history began in the second half of the nineteenth century. In 2015, this unique institution turns 170 years old.

Natural growth region

The variety was bred in Moscow region.

For several years, researchers tested the survival rate of these trees in the European part of Russia, primarily in Lower Volga, Central Black Earth and Central regions.

The apple tree was zoned after much research in 2001.

Today trees are common throughout Central Russia.

Especially good Stroyevsky apple trees have taken root in Oryol regionwhere they enjoy unprecedented popularity.

In these regions, they feel great: Apple saved, Lobo, Moscow Jubilee, Antonovka and Aport.

Yield

The yield of the Stroyevskoye variety is rather high and, importantly, stable. True, this variety can not be attributed to the number of early fruits.

Young trees begin to bear fruit only in the eighth and eleventh year after landing (in rare cases - in the fourth or fifth year).

However, after the start of fruiting, there is a fairly high annual yield.

The average apple harvest is 50-60 kg per adult tree (young apple trees, naturally, show slightly lower results).

Excellent yield can also boast Shtrepel, Scarlet Early and Nastya.

Planting and care

To ensure a good harvest, it is extremely important to choose and correctly prepare the right place for planting.

Stroyevskoe recommended to plant in a fertile well-fertilized soil.

Be sure to provide soil drainage.

This is necessary for the normal functioning of the tree: if the groundwater rises very high, the apple tree will start to ache and will soon die.

It is also important to provide wood sufficient level of lighting.

It is better to plant young apple trees in areas with high or medium illumination, avoiding dark places.

The survival rate Stroevskoe varieties are quite high. Young seedlings in most cases perfectly withstand the first (most difficult) years of their life.

At the same time care for these trees is quite simple. You will not have to make any difficult efforts.

It is necessary only regularly (preferably once a year) fertilize the soil, as well as prune extra branches, otherwise, in particularly productive years, they may not be able to withstand the heavy load of ripe fruits.

Diseases and pests?

One of the main advantages of the Stroevskoye variety is that it belongs to the number of immune varieties of apple trees.

This term refers to rocks that have absolute scab resistant and completely unaffected by this fungal disease.

This variety is also practically unaffected by various pests.

Thanks to this positive property, Stroevskoye enjoys wide use. popular in the central regions of our country.

Variety Stroyevskoe appeared in the domestic gardening relatively recently.

For a short history of its existence, this variety has gained a lot of fans and admirers.

This is not surprising, given all the unique properties of this variety.

Stroevsky apple trees survive well in different regions, have absolute resistance to scab, give stable and high yields.

Stroevsky apples are perfectly stored throughout the winter and do not require any special storage conditions.

And of course, the fruits of this variety are amazingly beautiful and tasty.

Thanks to all these positive properties, the Stroyevskoye variety is perfect for both amateur gardeners and those who want to grow fruit trees for commercial purposes.
