What tools are needed?

What tools do you need to make a polycarbonate greenhouse window for your own hands? To make the window, you will need screwdriver and screws. Choose those that have a special O-ring. Buy screws with a wide hat. For processing the edge of the profile, use the file.

Purchase hacksaw, to create a structure useful U-profile. If you cannot buy it, replace the fasteners with perforated tape. To work you will need polycarbonate sheets and scotch.

The choice of attachment is also very important. For windows, use the following mounts:

  • on hinges;
  • on pivoting mechanisms.

Mounting type greenhouse ventilation is not affected. But when installing automatic systems, it is better to think about this point in advance, this will avoid further difficulties with ventilating the room. Selecting the method, install the vents.

The assembly consists of the following steps.:

  1. Cut out part of the wall. Work carefully, paying attention to the size of the window.
  2. Take a profile, use thinner sheets in your work than on the greenhouse itself. Cut a piece. To increase strength, add stiffeners or make a tie using a mounting tape for this purpose.
  3. Attach the frame to the place where you intend to install the valve. If the edges coincide with the hole, then take a file and process the edges with it.
  4. Buy a light-colored primer. Cover the structure, or paint it with ordinary paint. This will protect the material from the environment.
  5. When the frame is ready, screw the polycarbonate. Carefully trim those parts of the sheet that stand out of the outlines of the frame.
  6. Take a sealant or adhesive tape. Carefully cover all joints with them. Carefully protect the lower edge of the structure. If you wish, glue the edges of the vents rubber.
  7. Attach the hinges and put the turntable with the limiter, which will serve as a lock.
  8. Install the vent.
