Females are not so elegant, their small wings are devoid of patterns and do not even allow them to rise above the ground.
Marzipan cockroach.
Exot from North America. Frequent terrariums. Differs not particularly large in size, reaching a length of not more than 4 cm. The covers have a noble cherry color. The wings are very poorly developed, the elytra are short, square.
Females have a wider body. They carry a day out for a day, then hide it in the litter or attach it to the bark. From above it is cemented with chewed pieces of soil and bark.
Marble cockroach.
It is raised in terrariums as decoration or as food for hedgehogs, lizards and spiders. In nature, lives in South America. The male can grow 3 cm in length, the female - by 2.5 cm. The body is colored chestnut. On the covering wings are lighter speckles that form marble patterns across the surface. On the neck shield there are dark brown dashes.
There are no other differences from relatives in the marble cockroach. Like the rest, this viviparous species lives in the upper layer of the earth, is omnivorous.
Madagascar cockroach.
A popular ornamental species found in many terrariums. Possesses huge, in comparison with other types, dimensions. The length of the torso of an adult male reaches 5-8 cm, females - 6-9 cm.
